Ten Trick or Treaters: five

Trick or treat! You hear something on the porch. It’s a robot!
This is Trick-or-Treater number 5 of 10 for the contest to name and describe the character. Get started! Winners announced on Halloween.

    Wow these are awesome, I do mean that literaly. Love the collage and print thing you have going on.

    Eloise Fishburne was very proud of her costume. She had worked on it all by herself every night for a whole week and all her hard work paid off. She won her first grade costume contest and your heart. You’re kind of a sucker for creativity!

    “My wheels make me go so quick.
    My dials, they all spin and click.
    My hole-y head lets my thoughts go
    In and out just as they ought so.
    Don’t you think my costume’s sweet?
    Won’t you give me some nice treat?”

    “But on your head? What’s that light?
    So you won’t stumble in the night?”

    “No, no, you’ve got it wrong, I fear!
    That shows I’ve got a big idear!”

    though a fine cardboard ‘bot
    was actually young Wayne Preston Hollander.

    But as he rolled down the lane,
    his mother screamed “Wayne!”
    “Don’t you *dare* take my only good colander!”

    wasn’t so fast on his feet
    so he put on his blades
    and rolled down the street past Mr Glade’s
    now his robot was poor
    most pieces he found on the floor
    he skated on down until CRASH
    the light bulb he wore had gone SMASH

    Auto Matt, the Homewares Golem

    It was his mother’s idea to have the arrow pointing up. Otherwise, the costume was all Matt’s.
