I got an email from Keri Smith recently asking me to be part of a project that involves presidents of the U.S. I requested good facial hair and as a result got Chester Arthur, 21st President of the United States (1829 – 1886).
I didn't know much about this fellow, but I did some reading and lots of sketching. The final isn't done yet, but here are two sketches. Stay tuned for more on this project.

I was lucky enough to have been invited to contribute another snowflake to The Jimmy Fund for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The program is called Robert's Snow and many children's book illustrators contribute. This took place in 2005 and now again. My snowflake and the others will be auctioned in November with proceeds going to the Jimmy Fund.
You can see Adam Rex's snowflake here, and you can see the 2005 snowflakes here.
